League Cup, finale

Si è giocato questo pomeriggio ad Hampden la finale di Coppa di Lega tra i favoriti Rangers e la "piccola" St.Mirren; partita molto equilibrata e tutto faceva presagire ad una sorpresa, ma nonostante la doppia inferiorità numerica i Gers si portano a casa il trofeo grazie alla rete di Kenny Miller all'84'. I Rangers conquistano così la loro 26° Coppa di Lega.

Si sono giocate in settimana le due semifinali di Coppa di Lega; martedì sera al Fir Park di Motherwell il St.Mirren a sorpresa supera gli Hearts grazie ad una rete di Mehmet, mercoledì ad Hampden invece nessuna sorpresa con la vittoria dei Rangers sul St.Johnstone. Rangers e St.Mirren si sfideranno così in finale.

Tra ieri ed oggi si è giocato il secondo turno di Coppa di Lega, che purtroppo ha visto il Morton uscire sconfitto dal Rugby Park di Kilmarnock; unico risultato a sorpresa l'eliminazione dell'Hamilton Accies per mano del Ross County, mentre il St.Johnstone segna sei reti al malcapitato Arbroath.
